MGM Hosts "Sharing Session on National People's Congress and National Political Consultative Conference" |
|
|
MGM is dedicated to upholding the Nation’s spirit and supporting its development strategies. Following the conclusion of the National People's Congress (NPC) and National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also known as Two Sessions, MGM organized the “Sharing Session on National People's Congress and National Political Consultative Conference” earlier. The event commenced with an opening speech by Pansy Ho, Member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC and Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited. Keynote speakers included Kou Hoi In, Member of the Standing Committee of NPC and President of the Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR; Ho Sut Heng, Deputy to NPC and President of Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Kevin Ho, Deputy to NPC and President of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau; Ho Ion Sang, Member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR, and Wong Kit Cheng, Member of the National Committee of CPPCC and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR. The speakers shared key messages of the Two Sessions with over 350 on-site attendees, including MGM team members, students and professors from local universities, and members of the General Association of Macau Beijing Organization. The event was also live-streamed to MGM's back-of-house area, engaging over 3,000 participants both online and offline.

In celebration of its 17th anniversary, MGM held a ceremony at Grande Praça in January, attended by Pansy Ho, Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, MGM’s Management team, and MGM team members.

With the aim to enhance women's health and promote active participation in sports, MGM invited two teams, comprising a total of 16 members, to take part in the "2025 Macau Women's Sports Carnival". One of our teams clinched the championship in Category B, showcasing the MGM team's spirit of teamwork and vitality.

Barra Lucky Blessing Market |
|
|
MGM has transformed the historic Barra Slaughterhouse site into a hybrid space for creativity and collaboration, unveiling the “Barra Lucky Blessing Market” series event as a prelude to the Chinese New Year celebrations at Barra District. Featuring collaboration across Asia — including the Nation’s First-Class Museum - Prince Kung's Palace Museum, renowned Japanese illustrator Shinri Murakami, and local creative retail brand Bookand, the “Barra Lucky Blessing Market” combined Chinese intangible cultural heritage - Printmaking, modern illustrations, Weekend Market, and Music Festival innovatively to foster cross-sector synergy and creation.

MGM Spreads Festive Warmth and Care to People in Need
|
|
|
To celebrate Chinese New Year, MGM carries on the tradition of caring for the community by organizing a series of activities for the elderly and those in need, including the "Spring Clean for Love", "Intergenerational Calligraphy Workshop", and "Sing for Love" programs, as well as free haircut services for senior citizens. In addition, over 2,500 scarves hand-knitted by MGM Golden Lion Volunteer Team members, other MGM team members, and local students were distributed to 14 social welfare organizations. These activities have benefited over 3,100 people, including seniors, students, and people with disabilities.

Lion Dance for Good Day
|
|
|
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, MGM and Macau Special Olympics (MSO) jointly organized the "Lion Dance for Good Day" to promote Lingnan culture and social inclusion. MGM mascot Leo & Leona and MSO x MGM Lion Dance Team visited Escola de Santa Teresa do Menino Jesus, Elderly Service Centre of the Caritas Macau, Escola Santa Maria Mazzarello, Escola de Santa Madalena and Elderly Service Centre of the Women's General Association of Macau to bring a wonderful lion dance performance to more than 2,500 teachers & students and 300 seniors.

MGM Encourages Local Youth to Explore GBA |
|
|
In January, MGM co-organized the “Greater Bay Area ‘1+4’ Diversified Industries Exploration Tour” with the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR, the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and the Macau Youth Development Service Centre. Featuring on-site visits and exchanges in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, this tour enabled over 50 local youths to learn about the latest developments in various industries such as big health, modern financial services, technology, MICE, sports, and the commercial and trade industries.

MGM-Sponsored Green Science Competition Concludes |
|
|
As a main project of the "Sustainable Development Innovation & Technology and Green Skills Education Campaign" co-organized by MGM and Macao Science Center, the "Green, Low-Carbon National Youth Science Popularization Competition – Shaping a Green Life Together", concluded successfully earlier. This competition attracted approximately 600 entries from 16 regions across China, including Hong Kong and Macau. Among these, 100 elite teams were invited to Macau to showcase their projects and compete for the top ten national honors. In addition to the competition, MGM organized educational visits for these participants to explore the POLY MGM MUSEUM and the local Eco-Fun Stations, where they gained a deep understanding of Macau.

Earlier, MGM actively participated in the "Technology Empowers Social Services: Innovation, Integration, and Practice" seminar held by the Fuhong Society of Macau, not only as a sponsor unit but also organizing 20 Golden Lion Volunteer team members to attend. Featuring the introduction of the latest developments in the fields including rehabilitation, technology and accessibility, the event enabled MGM members to explore cutting-edge applications of social services and exchange ideas with more than 200 guests.

Talent Training on the Cultural and Creative Design of Maritime Silk Road |
|
|
The Talent Training on the Cultural and Creative Design of Maritime Silk Road, submitted by MGM and joined by the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) has been successfully accepted as one of the beneficiaries of the 2025 China National Art Fund. This project will recruit 30 participants nationwide and the curriculum covers a wide range of topics including international perspectives, Silk Road studies, Maritime Silk Road aesthetics, cultural inheritance, innovative thinking, folk crafts and other topics, aiming to nurture inter-disciplinary talents with broad vision.

MGM and Art Basel Hong Kong Present the First Winner of the “MGM Discoveries Art Prize”
|
|
|
The inaugural “MGM Discoveries Art Prize”, presented by MGM in collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong, announced its first-ever winner-Shin Min, represented by P21 (Seoul). In recognition of her achievement, Shin Min and her representing gallery, P21(Seoul), received a prize of USD 50,000 and the opportunity to be invited by MGM to hold an exhibition and engage in artistic exchanges in Macau. Besides, MGM hosted an exclusive Art Basel Hong Kong guided tour for around 50 Macau’s cultural and educational leaders and representatives, including Leong Wai Man, Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR.

MGM and Guizhou Minzu University Sign University-Enterprise Cooperation Agreement |
|
|
MGM and Guizhou Minzu University have officially signed a strategic collaboration agreement in Guiyang, jointly launching the "Macau 2049" Ethnic Arts Talent Cultivation Program. The agreement will leverage Guizhou Minzu University's strengths in ethnic arts education to establish an "Ethnic Arts Talent Development Center". Under this framework, MGM will select outstanding graduates annually, to participate in the "Macau 2049" residency show after specialized training. This will create an integrated industry-academia-research cooperation model of "Guizhou cultivation, Macau practice, and global dissemination".

“Cultural Inheritance Through Technology” Symposium |

In January, under the guidance of the Art Exhibitions China, Poly Culture and MGM held a Museums Exchange Program – the “Cultural Inheritance Through Technology” Symposium at the POLY MGM MUSEUM. As part of the inaugural series of events, the Museum invited representatives from China’s national museums and arts and cultural organizations to explore in-depth topics such as how technology can break the boundaries between culture, art, and audiences and how to form historical awareness and cultural identity through audience interaction. The symposium attracted nearly 150 participants, including members from technology, art, culture, and history-related associations, scholars, students, and cultural heritage experts.

Yunjin Brocade — A Conversation on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Innovation |
|
|
In February, POLY MGM MUSEUM co-organized the Museums Exchange Program — “Yunjin Brocade — A Conversation on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Innovation” with Nanjing Yunjin Brocade Museum. Featuring Jian Mingwei, the Director of Nanjing Yunjin Brocade Museum, and Zhou Shuangxi, the national-level inheritor of the Nanjing Yunjin weaving technique, an intangible cultural heritage of mankind, this event encouraged an in-depth discussion on the protection, inheritance, innovation, and contemporary value of Yunjin brocade with nearly 100 participants. Moreover, the Nanjing Yunjin Brocade Museum gifted two brocade artworks, co-created by Zhou Shuangxi, to the POLY MGM MUSEUM.

MGM and Local Tech Firm Pioneer Playing Card Recycling Solution |
|
|
MGM signed a partnership agreement with local tech company Fnetlink Technology Company Limited to launch an innovative recycling solution that transforms used playing cards into eco-friendly packaging materials. The solution is expected to recycle approximately 3,000 tons of used playing cards annually, achieving a 100% recycling rate. With this initiative, MGM becomes the first integrated resort in Macau to implement a fully localized recycling system for playing cards, demonstrating its strong commitment to environmental protection.

2025 MGM Macao International Regatta - Family Fun Day |
|
|
The “2025 MGM Macao International Regatta”, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR, MGM and the Ursa Major Sailing Management came to a successful conclusion in January. To promote the concept of "Tourism + Sports", MGM held the "2025 MGM Macao International Regatta - Family Fun Day " earlier at the Star on Coast- Leisure Area of Kun Iam Statue Waterfront, participated by 60 kids and their parents from Macau Federation of Trade Unions, The General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau and The Women’s Association of Macau.

MGM COTAI has been named “Best Business Hotel in Macau” at the 18th Annual TTG China Travel Awards 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year it has received this honor. "Macau Space Dream Program" Honored as Outstanding Activities |

The General Office of China Association for Science and Technology recently announced the results of the 2024 National Science Popularization Day Outstanding Activities. The "Macau Space Dream Program" was selected as the Outstanding Activity of National Science Popularization Day 2024. Jointly initiated by MGM, The Association for Promotion of Science & Technology of Macau and the Chinese Society of Astronautics, the program attracted nearly 250 local primary and secondary students to participate. It included two major parts - The “Call from Deep Space" Experiential Camp for primary students and the "Macau Youth Creative Design Competition of Space Experiment" for secondary students.
