The “Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR: MGM Artistic Swimming Elite Extravaganza & Macao Open Artistic Swimming Competition 2024”
The “Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR: MGM Artistic Swimming Elite Extravaganza & Macao Open Artistic Swimming Competition 2024” was successfully held, distributing nearly 3,000 tickets for free to the public. The event featured stellar performances from the Nation’s renowned artistic swimming teams, including the Beijing Artistic Swimming Team, the Jiangsu Artistic Swimming Team, and the Sichuan Artistic Swimming Team, bringing 17 competing teams with nearly 200 young athletes together. To reinforce Macau as the hub for artistic swimming in the Greater Bay Area, MGM also hosted the “Artistic Swimming Master Class” for the first time, boosting the exchange between young competing athletes and outstanding artistic swimming professionals.

MGM and Zhang Yimou Jointly Unveils “MGM 2049” Residency Show
MGM has joined hands with world-renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou to present an unprecedented residency show MGM 2049 at the MGM Theater in December. The show officially opens over 200 positions for global candidates, which further fosters the development of Macau’s talent cultivation and diversified strategies, as well as promoting Chinese culture to the world.
MGM X Ren Zhe – “Legends of Chivalry” Art Exhibition
MGM presented internationally renowned Chinese contemporary artist Ren Zhe in his first-ever solo Macau show, “MGM X Ren Zhe – ‘Legends of Chivalry’ Art Exhibition” at MGM COTAI, which featured a series of works created under the theme of “wuxia heroism”. This exhibition was one that combined concepts of “selling exhibition” and “public art”. At the Spectacle, it showcased the awe-inspiring sculptures of beloved Jin Yong characters Golden-haired Lion King and Xiaolongnu. Meanwhile, the “MGM X Ren Zhe – ‘Legends of Chivalry’ Selling Exhibition” at ‘M Art Gallery presented more than 20 sculptural art pieces by Ren, which exemplified the fusion of his Chinese philosophical thinking with contemporary techniques, alongside a series of manuscripts that serve as an extension of his sculptures.
“Into the World of Wuxia Legends” Jin Yong Wuxia Drama Costumes and Weapons Exhibition
MGM has collaborated with Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) to present the “‘Into the World of Wuxia Legends’ Jin Yong Wuxia Drama Costumes and Weapons Exhibition” at Barra. The exhibition showcased an array of exquisitely crafted drama costumes and a collection of realistically made props, such as the “Heavenly Sword” and “Dragon Slayer Saber”, and the “Condor” from The Condor Heroes 95. MGM also partnered with local small and medium-sized food service businesses at Navy Yard No. 2 to operate food trucks offering snacks such as canal-cover-shaped Macau-style egg waffles, handmade ice cream, burgers, and drink specialties.
MGM and Christie’s Presents “Liu Ye: at High Peak” Debut Exhibition in Macau
MGM joined forces with the world-leading auction house Christie’s for the first time to host “Liu Ye: at High Peak” Debut Exhibition in Macau, featuring 11 paintings by Liu Ye with a total value of over HK$300 million. It also presented a series of modern Chinese poetries, with professional guided tours of the exhibits provided by art docents from Christie’s and MGM, immersing visitors in an artistic world that seamlessly combines poetry and painting.

To showcase the charm of dancers from mainland and Macau, the "China's Top Dancers Night Tour (Macau)" was staged at the MGM Theater, with the theme "Dancing Together, Celebrating for the Founding of our Nation".

MGM SME Program 2024: Seizing Business Opportunities in Cooperation Zone
MGM and the Guangdong Office of the Macao Chamber of Commerce jointly launched the "MGM SME Program 2024: Seizing Business Opportunities in Cooperation Zone", which was also supported by the Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone. Under the program, MGM with its profound knowledge in the leisure industry and understanding of supply chain needs of the integrated resort industry, along with the Macau Chamber of Commerce's established networks in Guangdong, join hands to support Macau SMEs that are either interested in or have already ventured into the Cooperation Zone, with the aim to strengthen the collaboration between enterprises in Macau and Mainland China.
MGM x MinMPlaza – Support Local SMEs Roadshow
MGM fully supports the sustainable development of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Last year, the Company held 74 roadshows for SMEs, with a total sale of more than MOP 4 million. Recently, MGM has invited six SMEs from MinMPlaza to hold a promotional roadshow in the back-of-house area, which received enthusiastic support from our team members.

MGM Wins 11 Employee Experience Awards
MGM has received six gold and four silver awards, as well as the “Employee Experience Awards Grand Winner” prize, in the “Employee Experience Awards 2024” organized by Human Resources Online, a regionally renowned HR media. Moreover, MGM was honored with the “BEST Award” from the world’s largest and highly respected Association of Talent Development, receiving this prestigious recognition for the third time.
MGM Garners Two Accolades
MGM was delighted to be named the winner of the 2024 MECC Award for EuroExcellence in Blue and Green Innovation. Besides, MGM COTAI was awarded Gold Status in the Macao Green Hotel Award, presented by the Macao Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA), in collaboration with the Macao Government of Tourism Office (MGTO). It is the third consecutive time that MGM COTAI has been awarded Gold Status since its opening.

MGM Launches the First “Macau Space Dream Project”
MGM rolled out the “MGM Youth Popular Science” series this year. One of its key initiatives was the “Macau Space Dream Project” (Project), which was co-organized by MGM, the Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau (MAPST), and the Nation’s first-grade academic institution of aerospace - the Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA). The Project, themed on aerospace technology, not only marked CSA’s maiden science education event in Macau, but also Macau’s first education series of space science designed exclusively for local youth through a three-pronged approach of “Learning, Practice & Research”. It comprised two branches, namely the "Macau Youth Creative Design Competition of Space Experiment" for Form 1 to 5 students in high schools, and the “Call from Deep Space" Experiential Camp for Primary 5 to 6 students in primary schools.
MGM Partners with FAOM to Promote Responsible Gaming
MGM partners with the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM) to organize the "Contributing a Harmonious Community - RG Macau Express” series to increase the awareness of responsible gaming from local communities to popular tourist attractions. This series is to hold eight promotional events from May to December 2024 with an expected total attendance of 8,000 tourists.
MGM Donates to Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop for 12 Consecutive Years
MGM donated MOP300,000 to the Macau Holy House of Mercy’s (SCMM) Welfare Shop project for the 12th consecutive year — in a bid to fund the distribution of food hampers to nearly 400 local households in need. To date, MGM has donated an aggregate of MOP3.6 million to the project.
MGM Hopes to Strengthen Cooperation within Yangzhou and Macau
Last year, MGM arranged a visit for representatives of both the Macau government and tourism industry to Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province – a city that shares the same designation with Macau as the “Creative City of Gastronomy”. During the visit, MGM signed an agreement with local universities and enterprises to foster tourism talent in Jiangsu and Macau. This year, MGM invited a delegation from Yangzhou to Macau for an exchange session. During the exchange session, representatives of MGM, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Yangzhou, discussed more on collaborative opportunities, seeking to further leverage the strengths of both cities and promote the quality development of Macau’s integrated tourism and leisure industry.
MGM and MGTO Collaborates to launch Tourism Ambassadors Training
MGM and the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) jointly organized the training series “Together We Deliver Exceptional Hospitality as Tourism Ambassadors” to support MGTO’s “Macao Courtesy Campaign”. The Company held an opening ceremony featuring the first quarterly lecture of the series, which was well-received by nearly 800 participants representing over 30 supporting organizations.
MGM Co-organizes the “Ü CARE Moving Care and Service Shuttle – Embrace Your Health Family Fun Fair”
MGM organized the “Ü CARE Moving Care and Service Shuttle – Embrace Your Health Family Fun Fair” in collaboration with Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office (SKH). The fair comprised various activities, including on-site children health consultations, traditional Chinese medicine workshops, mental support stations, and multiple health information corners. It attracted over 2,500 participants.
MGM Supports the “May Fourth” Related activities
MGM supported the "May Fourth Movement Career Exploration Journey - Building an Arts Capital" event organized by the Preparatory Committee for the Commemorative Activities of the "May Fourth" Youth Festival. Nearly 50 local youths visited MGM COTAI acknowledging the Company's long-term efforts in promoting the development of arts, culture and entertainment industry. It also allowed visitors to learn more about MGM Theater including its technological equipment and backstage working environment.
MGM Teenagers Hairdressing Training Program
Since 2023, MGM has organized the “MGM Teenagers Hairdressing Training Program" with the support of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ). This year, students from Escola Dos Moradores de Macau and Pui Ching Middle School, went to Brilho da Vida” da Cáritas de Macau and Ká Hó Nursing Home under Macau Federation of Trade Unions, allowing the elderly to get a fresh hairstyle.
MGM Holds the “Sing for Love”
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to motherland, MGM held the “Sing for Love” event. Our Golden Lion Volunteer Team visited the Mong Ha Elderly Center under Macau Federation of Trade Unions and Centro de Dia “Brilho da Vida” da Cáritas de Macau. We sang, exercised and played games with the elderly, enjoying a good time together.
MGM Enhances Vocational Education in Macau
MGM participated in the “Creation of Techniques and Capabilities & Diversified Development” Vocational and Technical Education Promotion Day organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, conducting a Woodcraft Experience Workshop to instruct participants to apply traditional mortise and tenon techniques to make wooden chairs. It helped deepen the public's understanding of wood crafts. As an extension of promotion day, MGM held an “Industry Discovery + Visit” tour at MGM COTAI for teachers and students of Escola Oficial Zheng Guanying, including the introduction of the key departments and functions and an art tour to explore the MGM Chairman’s Collection.
MGM Promotes Chinese Culture
MGM supported a special seminar themed on Chinese traditional architecture, which was jointly organized by the Macao Association for Historical Education and the Henan Provincial Cultural Relics and Architecture Protection Research Institute. It attracted over 100 attendees including local middle school teachers and students, MGM team members, and citizens to appreciate our shared Chinese heritage and wisdom.
MGM Actively Cultivates Industry Talents with Local Universities
MGM management members have once again been invited by local universities as distinguished guests to share best practices in the industry, including industry insights and experience on data analytics in integrated resorts as well as business strategy and operations in slot. It benefited over 250 university students to gain deeper insights into the industry’s operations.
MGM Presents: the Macao Orchestra “Musical Singing Masterclass”
“MGM Presents: the Macao Orchestra ‘Musical Singing Masterclass’” was held successful. Three professional vocalists – CJ Tan, Ray Liu, and RJ Woessner mentored in the masterclass, attracting many local singing enthusiasts. Besides, MGM presented the "Disney’s Aladdin in Concert Live to Film”, and specially invited over 330 families from various local organizations, including the FAOM, UGAMM, Women's General Association of Macau, Cartias Macau, S.K.H. Macau Social Services Coordination Office and the Salvation Army, to attend the open rehearsal of this show.

MGM joined hands with The Women's General Association of Macau and Macau Artist Society to host the 35th Macau Children’s Painting Contest. This year, it set up two competition divisions in Macau and In-Depth Cooperation Zone respectively with a total of 176 talented winners in the contest.

MGM Team Members Makes Annual Visits to the National Security Education Exhibition
MGM team members took on a guided tour to the National Security Education Exhibition, which was co-organized by the Macao SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR. To date, MGM team members have made over 2,400 visits to the Exhibition, both online and in person. This year, MGM arranged for 300 team members to visit the Exhibition on-site, contributing to the successful implementation of “One Country, Two Systems”.
MGM Dragon Boat Team Participates in “2024 Macao International Dragon Boat Races”
This year, the MGM Dragon Boat Team with a total of 55 team members took part in the “2024 Macao International Dragon Boat Races”, comprising almost 95% of local team members to compete across four categories in six teams.
MGM Partners with FAOM to Launch “Golden Lion Reading Corner”
MGM, in collaboration with the Worker Book House of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), launched “Golden Lion Reading Corner” in the back-of-house area of the company. Besides, the Worker Book House of FAOM has provided various resources for the Golden Lion Reading Corner, covering genres such as literature, history, psychology, and philosophy. MGM team members also have access to digital resources from a system operated by the China Worker Publishing House, such as e-books and audiobooks. This makes MGM the first company in Macau to have this privilege.
