"Buddha Passion" jointly presented by MGM and Tan Dun
The symphonic masterpiece Buddha Passion – jointly presented by MGM and world-renowned musician Tan Dun at the MGM Theater during the fresh start of 2024 – brought down the curtain with resounding success. This event not only serves as a grand tribute to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the Motherland, but also an unprecedented artistic breakthrough by MGM and Tan Dun.
Living Heritage: Poly Culture MGM Charity Auction Gala
MGM hosted the "Living Heritage: Poly Culture MGM Charity Auction Gala”, which revolved around Chinese cultural heritage and brought together a group of celebrated Chinese and international artists to jointly create a remarkable global cultural feast through Chinese cultural treasures. All auction items including 20 pieces of contemporary Chinese artworks and cultural experiences were successfully sold, and the total amount raised reached nearly HKD 12 million. The funds raised will be utilized to support Chinese arts and cultural promotional activities associated with the China-France Cultural Tourism Year.
MGM Discoveries Art Prize
This year, MGM and Art Basel Hong Kong have joined forces to announce the launch of the “MGM Discoveries Art Prize” in 2025. The prize is dedicated to supporting emerging artists and fostering new talents, as well as recognizing the originality and innovation showcased in the art fair’s Discoveries sector. In addition, MGM invited Macau’s cultural leaders and representatives to join a tour of the Discoveries sector, providing them with a preview chance to appreciate the artworks from globally renowned and emerging artists, with an aim to bring new perspectives and vitality into Macau’s arts scene.
Barra Spring Fest
MGM has launched a fresh revitalization initiative “Barra Spring Fest” – in which MGM has extended its arts & culture ingenuity and network into the Barra district in collaboration with local SMEs, artists and performers. Meanwhile, MGM created Barra CityWalk route and invited members of local NGOs and Mainland students on an educational tour to enjoy Barra’s charm through this route.
Barra District Revitalization Series – The Barra ARTivation
MGM strives to introduce a wide range of art forms to the Barra District and has officially launched the Barra District Revitalization Series – “The Barra ARTivation”, with local students and elderly jointly creating murals and thus fostering connections between generations through art. The series consists of a parade by art groups, a floral art exhibition, and a historical photography exhibition, injecting contemporary, trendy, artistic, and lifestyle elements into Barra.
The 1st Macau International Comedy Festival
Comedy Summit, the highlight of the 1st Macau International Comedy Festival, was successfully held in MGM COTAI, which gathered a group of China's famous comedians as well as more than 400 comedy lovers from all over the world. MGM is one of the co-organizers of this festival with the aim to deepen Macau's connotations of Art & Culture through laughter.
MGM Became Education Tourism Destination for Intangible Heritage
MGM arranged a dedicated “Study Tour on Intangible Cultural Heritage” for a total of 160 teachers and students from Hong Kong’s St. Paul's School (Lam Tin) to embark on a journey to appreciate MGM’s art collections and special exhibitions on intangible heritage. Such an initiative has made MGM a cultural destination for students to dive into the knowledge related to intangible heritage and advance the development of Macau’s educational tourism.

MGM Donated HKD 3 Million to Support Rural Revitalization in Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province
In alignment with the National policy of rural revitalization, MGM has donated HKD 3 million to restore seven historical buildings within Shankou Town in Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province, giving impetus to its economic and cultural sustainable development. The donation supports the initiative, coordinated by the Macao SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, to assist in the revitalization of Jiangxi.
MGM Sponsored “Macau Outstanding Teenagers Award” for Six Consecutive Editions
MGM has supported the “Macau Outstanding Teenagers Award”, organized by the Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau (YMCA of Macau), for the sixth consecutive edition. This year, MGM pushed ahead with a set of learning initiatives designed for young candidates to widen their horizons, including an educational trip into the Greater Bay Area, opportunities to deliver speeches at schools, an exchange tour in Shanghai, and more.
MGM CNY Community Activities
Continuing the philanthropic Chinese New Year tradition for the senior community of Macau, MGM delivered best wishes to more than 800 local elderly through a series of activities including the 10th “Spring Clean for Love”, Heart-Written CNY couplets, and CNY fresh haircut, welcoming a happy and prosperous new year.
Talent Cultivation Program
Committed to talent cultivation in a bid to foster the advancement of Macau, MGM worked with different institutions including collaborating with Macau Federation of Trade Unions on “MGM Youth Development Series - MGM Technical and Vocational Education School Enterprise Cooperation”, and joining hands with Macao University of Tourism (UTM) on "Creative Cities of Gastronomy – MGM Food and Beverage Professional Career Program Series". MGM provided internship opportunities and nurtured market-ready talents. MGM also donated kitchen equipment worth MOP 1.5 million to help UTM optimize its kitchen facilities and education standards.
“Macao Welcomes You” Training Programs for International Guests
MGM and Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) jointly organized the “Macao Welcomes You” Training Programs for International Guests to provide online and offline training opportunities. The programs covered knowledge and skills of hospitality for international visitors, cultural customs, language proficiency and more, to better equip employees in tourism industry to serve international visitors from different destinations and market segments. The first seminar focused on Islamic etiquette and cultural customs.

Sharing Session on National People's Congress and National Political Consultative Conference
MGM continually organized the 5th “MGM National and Cultural Education Series - Sharing Session on National People's Congress and National Political Consultative Conference”. First, Pansy Ho, Member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, gave the opening speech of the event, and invited Kou Hoi In, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and President of the Legislative Assembly of Macao;Chui Sai Peng, Member of the NPC and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macao;Ho Sut Heng, Member of the NPC and President of Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Ho Ion Sang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macao; and Charles Choy, Member of the CPPCC and Chairman Emeritus of The American Chamber of Commerce in Macao, to share about the Two sessions.
MGM Celebrated 16th Anniversary
To celebrate MGM’s 16th anniversary, the Company hosted a grand celebration and also announced that a discretionary bonus, equivalent to one month’s salary, would be paid to eligible team members.
Sustainability
MGM Became Macau’s First Integrated Resort Operator to Fully Convert to Natural Gas
MGM MACAU became the first hotel on the Macau Peninsula to convert to natural gas. Such a changeover also made MGM the first integrated resort operator to adopt clean and low-carbon natural gas across all its properties, achieving great strides in the green energy operation.
MGM Joined MIECF with Innovative Environmental Technology
This year, MGM joined hands with a local SME called CHAZENCE to participate in 2024 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2024 MIECF), and merged eco-friendly panels made from tea residue into booth design as well as lion displays assembled by students from two middle schools. There was an on-site green workshop teaching students to make eco-friendly tea residue coasters. Besides, MGM was named the Champion of Green Booth Award for the second consecutive year.

Form four students from Macau Pui Ching Middle School were invited to participate in a tour organized by MGM and the Macao Institution of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (AEEMM), to understand the building design and different internal energy-saving and low-carbon operational facilities of the large-scale integrated resort.

2024 MGM Macao International Regatta
The 2024 MGM Macao International Regatta, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, MGM and the Ursa Major Sailing Management, has officially concluded in January. A total of 37 teams, consisting of approximately 300 team members from 31 countries and regions, have competed in three events. MGM invited families from various community associations to join “Family Fun Day”, enjoying the fleet parade and sailing-themed parent-child workshops.

MOF Angelo Musa Presented Artisanal Chocolate and Pastry Craftsmanship to GBA Talents
To foster industry exchange and the development of Macau’s dynamic culinary scene, MGM joined hands with Angelo Musa, a world champion pastry master and author, to showcase his pastry-making expertise at the “CHOCOL’ART Culinary Demonstration” to over 80 pâtissiers and small enterprise owners from Macau, as well as chefs and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Awards of Imperial Court and Five Foot Road
Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI has once again been awarded One Michelin Star at the latest MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2024. Besides, Five Foot Road and Imperial Court, are both crowned with One-diamond awards from China’s acclaimed dining guide – Black Pearl Restaurant Guide 2024, and listed at 100 Top Tables 2024 of South China Morning Post.
Garnered Seven Five-Star Awards from Forbes Travel Guide 2024
This year, MGM has again been awarded seven Forbes Travel Guide’s Five-Star Awards. For the ninth and fifth consecutive year, MGM MACAU and Tria at both MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI have received Forbes Travel Guide’s Five-Star honors, respectively. Additionally, the Company has won four Five-Star Awards between both properties for three years in a row: the Emerald Tower, the Skylofts, and Sichuanese restaurant Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI; and Chinese Lingnan restaurant Imperial Court at MGM MACAU.

MGM is honored to receive a total of 41 Asia-Pacific human resources awards in 2023, covering a broad spectrum of good HR practices, including employee training and talent development, HR management, workplace culture, employer branding, etc. Especially, MGM won four awards at the 3rd National Human Resources Innovation Competition, making it the most awarded enterprise in the event.
