Equipping SMEs for the Typhoon Season: As the typhoon season is approaching, MGM has started a new campaign of distributing over 100 emergency kits to the SMEs in the low-lying areas, to prepare them for possible adverse situations.

On July 15, MGM team members visited some of our SME partners located at the Inner Harbor area and hand-delivered each one of them an emergency kit. Each kit contains a set of useful tools, including poncho, whistle and light torch, along with the specially designed leaflets of preparation tips and emergency contacts, which will come in handy during critical situations.

MGM Junior Lion Dance Program 2019: Our annual summer program, Junior Lion Dance Program has kicked off on June 30. This year, we have a total of 76 little boys and girls who will take part in the seven weeks training till end August. They will learn a lot about this traditional dance sport and be nurtured into little lion dancers by our award-winning lion dance master, Mr. Mak Chi Leong from the Hong Wai Dragon & Lion Dance Association.

MGM Junior Lion Dance Guangzhou Exchange Visit: MGM organized an exchange visit to Guangzhou for 43 children of the “MGM Junior Lion Dance Continuous Training Program,” on July 27 and 28, aiming to further develop the knowledge and skills of the young lion dancers and continue their interest in this age old tradition. During the two-day visit, the group performed with two local lion dance associations and exchanged knowledge to excel in new skills. The group also visited Yong Qing Fang of Liwan, Cantonese Opera Art Museum and Shamian Island to get some comprehensive knowledge of local history, architecture, and most importantly the stories behind the traditional sport.

First Employee Culinary Contest: In supporting Macau to strengthen its position as the “Creative City of Gastronomy” MGM hosted its first “Employee Culinary Contest” on July 17. Team members presented their extraordinary creativity and talent during the grand final contest to a panel of judges formed by government representatives, prominent master chefs from Hong Kong and Macau, as well as management team members of MGM. Champions of the contest will be visiting a local elderly home with MGM Golden Lion Volunteer Team the month after, and will be serving their winning dishes to the senior citizens.

Healthy and Fun Family Day for Gaming Industry Workers: On July 28, 200 MGM team members and their families were invited to participate in the “Healthy and Fun Family Day for Gaming Industry Workers” organized by Social Welfare Bureau of Macao (IAS) and local NGOs. This event is part of “2019 Responsible Gaming Campaign”, aims to promote healthy lifestyle and let the participants to explore more about the available social service resources while having fun with their children and family members.

Exhibition and Quiz Campaign of the constitution of the PRC and Macao Basic Law: In support of the “Exhibition and Quiz Campaign of the Constitution of the PRC and Macao Basic Law” organized by Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), we hosted an exhibition along with interesting quizzes for our team members to learn more about the importance and relationship between the “Constitution of the PRC” and the “Macao Basic Law”. Team members who answered all the questions correctly received prizes from IAM and from our internal lucky draw.

Diaoyutai MGM exchange program: During the week of July 22, as part of the cooperation with our counterpart in mainland China, 3 management members from Diaoyutai MGM have completed their 1-week cross training program with us in late July, strengthening their knowledge in our brand as well as the market environment in Macau. The program indicated the close collaborating relationship between MGM China and Diaoyutai MGM.
