MGM Energy Saving Week 2019: During June 9 to 15, MGM brought back the annual Energy Saving Campaign in support of GDSE’s Energy Saving Week. The campaign kicked off with a brand new green menu specially designed by our in-house chefs, which provided fresh and healthy options at MGM’s employee dining room HomeBase in promoting a greener lifestyle with low carbon dishes. Following the tradition of energy saving at the property, MGM participated in the GDSE Earth Hour in addition to the regular lights-off at monthly Earth Hour. As of today, energy savings of 5343 kW have been achieved due to the participation in Earth Hour, which is enough to charge 2,950 phones for a year. In addition, all non-uniformed team members were encouraged to wear casually in order to reduce the energy demand in the office.

Ocean Conservation Art Workshop with Fu Luen School: On June 15, MGM hosted an Art workshop on the theme of Ocean Conservation with Fu Luen School. A total of 57 students, parents and teachers were warmly welcomed to MGM MACAU’s Ballroom to join the MGM Ocean Conservation Art Workshop. Following the Educational Tour around the MGM Aquarium, students were invited to an interactive lesson with our aquarists and sustainability team.  Students had the opportunity to make their own creative eco-friendly sea life crafts with disposable items they brought from home and a provided set of recycled materials. With a bit of help from friends and parents, each of them created an astonishing product to take home as an eco-souvenir. Together we all had a great time learning the importance of ocean conservation and reduction in single-use plastics in order to help conserve the marine habitats.
