Top 100 GBA Enterprise Heritage Awards: In celebration of both the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Bay Area Economic and Trade Association held the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Bay Area Top 100 Enterprise Heritage Awards and Outstanding Entrepreneurship Awards Ceremony. MGM was proud to be the only Macau enterprise to win the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Bay Area Top 100 Enterprise Heritage Award.

TTG China Travel Award: MGM COTAI was awarded the “Best New Hotel in Macau” at the 12th Annual TTG China Travel Awards 2019 as a testament to MGM’s legacy of providing exclusive world-class hospitality in Asia.

Bringing our journey of sustainability to MIECF: MGM participated in The Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum (MIECF) 2019 to showcase MGM’s green achievements including our ambition to be aligned with the best green practices and our passion to engage and ignite our team members and community and our guests.

Food Waste Handling tour for Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT): On March 20, MGM COTAI welcomed faculties, engineers and chefs from IFT to learn about our current status of food waste handling processes and the solid waste management framework. During their visit, we also shared some chef-approved ideas for reducing the food scraps and discussed about some challenges in efforts of achieving sustainable and integrative food waste handling in the city.

Fully support Macao SAR Government in enhancing accessible tourism: On March 25, Macao Government Tourism Office and MGM co-organized the Seminar on “Effective communication with persons with disabilities towards a barrier-free environment”, in tandem with the co-launch of the “Power in Our Hands” community e-learning program of Macao sign language. The two collaborative initiatives aim to steer tourism services towards greater accessibility and instill deeper awareness in tourism industry personnel about different special needs, supporting the scheme of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government to optimize the accessibility of the urban environment.

Congratulations to Zhuhai Brief to be the vice president unit of the Second Council of ZAOS: As a member of the MGM team, ZH Brief received the honor being the vice president unit of the Second Council of Zhuhai Association of Outsourcing Service (ZAOS). In recent years, with the strong support of governments and enterprises at all levels, ZAOS  has promoted the industry in Zhuhai through external exchanges, platform services, talent training and brand building, and achieved remarkable results. In the future, ZH Brief will keep working together with MGM team to promote the integrated development of Bay Area.

Tree planting in IAM’s 38th Green Week: In support of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM)’s 38th Green Week, over 30 team members participated in the tree-planting event on the beautiful mountains of Coloane Country Park. Over 50 saplings have been planted successfully. It was then followed by a happy lunch in Taipa and each team member was given a pot of plant as a token of appreciation.

Explore Greater Bay Area opportunities: On March 19, the “Work Hand-in-hand to Explore Greater Bay Area Opportunities 2019” was kicked off at Economic Bureau meeting room. With the great support from MGM, this annual project was held by The Industry and Commerce Association of Macau, aiming to assist local SMEs’ development by introducing them to the mainland market and to discover the diversity and industrial news of the Greater Bay Area. By deepening regional cooperation, local entrepreneurs will be able to seize upcoming opportunities in Greater Bay Area development.

Macao Wisdom Humanities Encourage Political Association visiting COTAI: On March 15, MGM COTAI welcomed a group of more than 20 from Macao Wisdom Humanities Encourage Political Association to the Spectacle, MGM Theater as well as the back-of-house area, sharing insights into the topics of green building design, hospitality management, talent development scheme and industrial diversification.

Spread & Embrace Love Charity Sale roadshows: Spread & Embrace Love Charity Sale roadshows: During March and April, we were collaborating with Fuhong Society of Macau, Macau Special Olympics, and Caritas Macau to provide a wide selection of special designed handicrafts, homemade baked goods and toys handmade by their organization members for our team members to choose from. All the proceeds from the roadshows will be used for the allowance of their organization members.

Fuhong Housekeeping Vocational Training Room’s Grand opening: On March 28, the MGM Vocational Training Room in Pou Lei Centre under Fuhong Society of Macau was launched. The training room was refurbished into a mock up guest room with MGM design elements, aiming to equip the mentally challenged members of Fuhong with the knowledge and skills in guest room cleaning as well as to enhance their communication skills. This is a long-term vocation program facilitated by our MGM Housekeeping trainers.

Inspiring hope through Jewelry: MGM is committed to helping end the global injustice of human-trafficking. On March 7 and 8, MGM invited Eden Ministry, an international organization aiming to free victims under sexual slavery, to the back-of-house area of both our properties to promote their jewelry products handmade by the trafficking and exploitation survivors.

MGM COTAI's first anniversary! In March, MGM COTAI hosted a special 1st anniversary celebration with a carnival-themed party for all of its team members at the property’s back-of-the-house area where was filled with laughter and cheers. In addition to the performances at the Employee Dining Room and a range of game stalls, a massage booth was set by professional Chinese medical therapists.  MGM’s senior management team also served dishes to all the team members, as a token of appreciation for their dedication throughout the year.

MGM Fencing Club Touché again! MGM won the team champion title at the Macau Fencing Team Series 2019. The MGM team ended the match with 45-43 and clinched a solid gold. Several MGM Fencing Club colleagues also got their first taste of competition and achieved remarkable results. Congratulations!

Initiating Dialogue on Digital Art: On March 24, MGM proudly presented the second edition of MGM Art Symposium at MGM COTAI. Under the theme of “Transforming Art with Technology”, global art elites converged at the symposium to share their insights from art, science and digital technology perspectives, on the limited or unlimited art expression from technology, and how technology will lead the way in art.

Supporting the 30th Macao Arts Festival (MAF): MGM will again be supporting the MAF, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, held between May 3 and June 2. This year’s theme will be “A tribute to the classics”, inviting audience to taste the classics, enjoy the fine works and share wonderful moments! To engage our guests in this inspiring event, MGM’s Pastry Bar has crafted our own Macao Arts Festival Limited Edition Macaron, available till May 31.
