WELCOME TO OUR MGM SUSTAINABILITY NEWSLETTER
We’re doing a lot behind the scenes at MGM to reduce our impact on the environment and support the people that mean the most to us, including all our employees and community. Contributing to a better Macau through our arts and culture program is also an important aspect of our approach. Through this newsletter we will share our monthly sustainability highlights with you, and hope you will join us in our sustainability programs to help us Create a Better Tomorrow Today.
De-plastic milestone: As part of our commitment to implementing sustainable best practices across all development areas, MGM has removed all single-use plastics and replaced them with environmentally-friendly alternatives at all of the restaurants through practices like swapping plastic takeout bags to paper bags; using compostable and biodegradable takeout containers and cutlery, and offering customers with biodegradable straws upon request. The milestone marks a significant step towards the reduction of food and beverage plastic packaging waste in Macau, saving 4.5 million pieces of single-use plastic per year from being disposed of into the environment. Some alternatives are sourced from local small and medium-sized enterprises as another meaningful way to support local SMEs.
